Our Founder of Nomthunzi Scholarship Foundation (NSF) comes from humble beginnings and understands how education is key in making a difference for our communities. The NSF gives students from disadvantage communities a chance to receive education in secured and safe spaces that encourages growth and self confidence. We also facilitate programmes that benefits and involve the students parents in safe guarding their mental health as well as financial assistance too.
Nomthunzi means a place of rest under the tree. The founder’s daughter who passed on due to HIV is the reason she started this Foundation. As a young girl, the Founder, struggled to be in a safe environment that supported her educational needs and she never felt safe at home and at her own community. The founder’s dream and that of our partners is to make sure that our students are studying under the right environment and supported financially, and facilitated to improve their mental health through partnerships with their parents and our community.
Who we are
About us
The Nomthundzi Scholar Foundation is a humanitarian organization aimed at ensuring that the low income, the previously disadvantaged and/or the vulnerable have a dignified life throughout South Africa.
Research shows that students are sexually assaulted either at home or going to school.
Nomthundzi Scholar Foundation is a new organization, which seeks to evidence its effectiveness in the coming two years through a qualitative and quantitative analysis of its direct impact.
